[PERMANENTLY CLOSED - Store No Longer Operating]
Teapresso Bar in Sugar Land brings a Hawaiian-inspired twist to the local café scene, offering Kona coffee, milk teas, hot beverages, and customizable drinks with organic coffee beans—something not easily found in this part of town. With warm wooden tables, bright interiors, and plenty of seating, it’s a convenient place to study, work, or wind down with a drink.
However, the experience can be hit-or-miss. Once known for friendly service and quality drinks, this location has seen a noticeable decline in customer care, atmosphere, and consistency. Prices have crept up, and the staff’s demeanor has grown increasingly aloof. Still, for locals seeking real milk (not powdered creamer) and solid coffee options, Teapresso Bar remains one of the few alternatives in Sugar Land.
The café continues to shine in its cleanliness, available seating, and steady drink lineup. But with a little more warmth and attentiveness, it could easily return to its former charm—especially in a city craving more unique coffee and tea destinations.
What to Order:
Organic coffee beverages
Tapioca drinks & milk teas
Kona coffee specialties
Light snacks & hot drinks
Atmosphere Notes:
Bright, clean interior
Board games & seating for laptops/work
Can get loud during drink preparation
Review
Sara I. (Jan 11, 2023):
“This spot was unusually warm today and the service was mediocre at best; which seems to be the case lately. I've always liked Teapresso and really dig the location out in the Heights.. (if it's still around). But this location in the heart of Sugar Land could do way better. They were great when they first started out.. which was about 4 years ago. Since then the service has gone downhill and the drinks are steep in price.
The young lady at the front never smiles and seems to be irritated at any cost. Nonetheless, some of the drinks are still okay and it's one of the few spots where you can actually get a decent cup of coffee in Sugar Land. Simply because you have an option for choosing organic coffee beans and actual milk in your drinks. I always steer clear from non-dairy creamer and crap coffee.
I appreciate the fact that we have a Hawaiian style cafe in town that specializes in tapioca drinks, Kona coffee and a few other items. They have snacks as well as a few hot beverages. Plenty of seating with warm wooden tables and board games as well. It's a decent spot to get some work done or work on anything on your laptop. It can get loud at times because they're obviously making drinks in the corner.
All in all, it's a good spot in the area, especially with limited coffee choices (c'mon Sugar Land!). A bit bleak at times.. hoping they can regain their charm. Plus side? Always clean and bright inside.”
