Alief's Crisp, Refreshing, Creamy Pick Me Up Drink on a Sweltering Afternoon
Review:
Sara I. - 7/7/16
"Super crisp and creamy milk tea! I stopped by today after noticing the new cafe on my drive to the dentist. It was such a hot day and I needed a cold and refreshing drink. My go to drink is always milk tea anywhere | go. Magic Cup serves up some standard milk tea that isn't too watery or too sweet. So it isn't the best I've had, but as I mentioned, its standard, which isn't a bad thing. The drink was nicely sweetened, creamy and not too strong tasting. Shop workers were nice enough to let me try a small sample before deciding. Tapioca is included so I went ahead with it.
But personally, I asked for 1/2 boba and 1/2 ice. The drink was a nice pick me up on this sweltering day. The inside of the cafe is clean and spacious. Plenty of chairs and tables to situate yourself upon. The menu is quite large and extensive. Magic Cup has plenty of smoothies and fresh fruit juice options as well. I'll definitely visit again and try something new. The parking is a bit small and strangely situated, but I was able to get decent parking in the afternoon. They've got some snack food options at Magic Cup as well. Always nice to have new cafe choices in the area. Try it and see for yourself! Oh, and good customer service is always appreciated. Thanks guys!"
Sara's Takeaway
On a sweltering Houston afternoon, nothing hits quite like an ice cold milk tea, and Magic Cup in Alief delivered a smooth, creamy version that refreshed without overwhelming the palate. This spacious bubble tea and juice cafe is a solid drink stop for anyone cruising down the Bellaire corridor, with a clean, comfortable space that makes it easy to sit and relax, study, or catch up with friends.
Favorite Moment
The classic milk tea with tapioca was the highlight, ordered half boba and half ice. Creamy and crisp, not too sweet and not watery, with nicely chewy tapioca pearls included. It isn't the most complex milk tea around, but it's consistent and well balanced, which is never a bad thing.
Best Bite
Pairing The friendly staff offered a small sample before committing to an order, a nice touch that paired well with the quick, attentive service. Good customer care made the stop feel easy from start to finish.
