Sunday Press is a vibrant, joyful café that feels like a burst of color from the moment you walk in. With an extensive menu, beautiful pastry displays, and a warm neighborhood buzz, this Garden Oaks staple delivers a little something for everyone—whether you're craving a latte, a comfort-filled breakfast taco, or a sweet afternoon treat. Sunday Press fills up quickly, especially in the mornings, but the variety of seating and the energy inside make it a welcoming spot for conversations, studying, remote work, or slow weekend lounging.
The pastry case alone is enough to spark childhood nostalgia and adult-level excitement: marble pound cake, macadamia nut cookies, snickerdoodles, and the rare, highly coveted swirl croissants. The matcha swirl croissant in particular stands out—crispy, flaky, and filled with a balanced earthy sweetness. Drinks are equally satisfying, with the London fog latte offering depth, sweetness, and the subtle kiss of bergamot on creamy foam.
Must-Try Items:
Matcha swirl croissant
London fog latte
Breakfast taco (warm, hearty & veggie-loaded)
Cookies, pound cakes & pastries behind the glass
Acai bowls, soups, salads, and sandwiches

“My gosh — the menu here is so colorful, fun and quite extensive. You will find something for everyone here! Rejoice. This colorful café in more ways than one is serving up colorful, sweet and intricate food items.
Upon first glance — it's their sweets and treats that keep me coming back for more. Been awhile since I glanced at a marble pound cake, macadamia nut cookie, snickerdoodle and swirly croissants all tucked behind a lovely glass display. Sunday Press has these one of a kind swirl croissants which are hard to find within the city of Houston. This spot serves up these rare gems and on top of that? They're quite good. Great YUM and CRISP factor with the right amount of filling of your choice — my fav being the matcha swirl croissant.
For drinks selections: they've got everything you need! From café lattes, tea lattes and many other beverages to choose from — ours being the london fog latte. Sweet. Depth. And just the right amount of bergamot essence kissing the milky foam of the cup.
In regards to food, you'll find sandwiches, soups, salad among many other items. It's almost hard to decide — I was torn between pasta salad or breakfast taco. I went for the brekkie taco and glad I did. It was one taco yet it was filling, warm and with plenty of flavor. I liked how the taco wasn't spicy and that the tortilla was warm, stretchy and fresh. They added plenty of shredded veggies to my veggie breakfast taco. It was filling and made for the perfect meal earlier in the day. If I'm ever here later in the day, I'll definitely opt for some type of salad to go with my tea.
This spot fills up quick! We got here earlier in the morning and witnessed seats disappearing fast. Thankfully they have plenty of seating of all types. Many folks connecting and chatting while others studying or working on their laptops. With decently warm service within a unique colorful environment — I can definitely see why this place slowly causes traffic jams and gets packed within the day.
I envision myself revisiting again sometime soon and ordering a few different items on the menu. Will be back when in the area, which is once in awhile. Thank you Sunday Press for your treats and good vibes.”
