Naha Thai Restaurant brings warmth, flavor, and genuine hospitality to Sugar Land’s dining scene. Cozy, welcoming, and full of personality, this Thai eatery stands out not just for its bold dishes but also for the heartfelt conversations and charm offered by its owners. Friendly, talkative, and deeply accommodating, they make guests feel like neighbors rather than customers—an experience that lingers long after the meal ends.
The food is lively, fragrant, and crafted with care. Fresh red chilies—not just ground spice—give many dishes their signature punch. The pad thai is refreshingly light and crisp, leaning into a Northern Thai style that departs from the heavier, greasier versions often found elsewhere. This variation highlights brightness and texture over oiliness.
The penang curry is another standout: bubbling hot, aromatic, creamy with coconut milk, and filled with a variety of vegetables. The vegetarian version hits all the right notes, though the menu offers plenty of meat-based curries worth exploring next time. Together, these dishes showcase Naha Thai’s commitment to freshness, balance, and bold flavor.
With plans to return for soups, teas, and more, this spot easily becomes a favorite for Thai lovers in the area. An inviting setting, flavorful food, and warm conversation—Naha Thai gives Sugar Land exactly the spice and comfort it needed.
Must-Try Items:
Pad Thai (light, crisp & Northern Thai–inspired)
Penang curry (aromatic, creamy, veggie-packed)
Som Tum (papaya salad)
Any dish featuring their fresh red chilies

“111th review! :) Naha Thai is fantastic..! From the food, to the environment, as well as the service.. there isn't much to say except that it's warm and cozy. The owners are quite friendly and talkative; it makes all the difference in the world with a chatty diner such as myself. I enjoy relishing in conversations, especially with older folk that are full of wisdom. The folks that run this place are talkative and quite accommodating.
The food is tasty and packs in a punch of heat. I love the fact that they use fresh red chilies in most of their items, instead of just ground red pepper. The pad thai here is light, fresh and crisp. Far from the typical greasy bowl types. It was nice to eat a different variation of it.. typically Northern Thai style. Every region has its own take.. but this one was refreshing.
The penang curry is great here as well. Aromatic and bubbling. The coconut milk is creamy and brimming with different veggies. I ordered the vegetarian option and found it to be delightful. Will definitely try a meat item next time and pair it with a different curry. I'm picky with curries but I can honestly say this one was the better one that I've had.
Looking forward to revisiting and trying their soups, tea + so much more. The echoes of the old restaurant that used to be here are gone. This new spot is better. I'm glad Naha is in this part of town. We needed to crank up the heat in sweet old sugar land."
