Dolce & Cafe brings a whimsical, European-inspired charm to Spring Branch with its cozy interior, spacious seating, and an extensive menu of crepes, brunch favorites, and pastries. The atmosphere leans warm and quaint, though the dark interior creates a moody ambiance that contrasts with the sweetness suggested by its name. While the café stays busy with guests enjoying savory items and brunch plates, service and consistency can vary depending on the day.
Though the experience may not shine on every visit, the menu offers promise—from flaky pastries to made-to-order crepes—and this neighborhood spot still holds potential for a sweeter return.

“Oh gosh, such stiff and awkward service upon stepping into this local cafe. This cafe is quaint and whimsical inside. The interior is quite dark though. The seats are plentiful and decently comfortable. The service? Not so much. The young lady just stared at us bleakly as we stared at her right back. No hi, hello, or anything. Not even a smile.
I uncomfortably ordered an iced coffee. I then paused and asked if she could add 2% milk to it. Then she finally, yet bleakly responded. Hallelujah, I guess. My friend ordered an iced tea, along with a pastry. Our orders came quietly onto our table, followed by the pastry that was getting toasted a bit in their oven.
The iced coffee was by far the worst tasting coffee I have ever had. It had zero flavor, aroma or anything that could even remind you of coffee. It was completely flat and bitter tasting. Nothing. It was a warm day out—but I'm thinking their warm coffee is better tasting, given their reviews. The pastry was warm and crisp, flaky and lightly sweet.
I may revisit & try a crepe or their French toast. But I'm having mixed feelings. The city of Houston has plenty of memorable cafes to offer. This might have just been an off day. Other than that, the cafe was busy with folk enjoying their crepes and savory items. The menu is quite extensive. Dolce means sweet in Italian; and our experience was quite the contrary. May bump up the review if a more pleasant experience is encountered on a prospective visit.”
