Zen Garden Meetup – A Calm & Refreshing Sunday Gathering

The Zen Garden Meetup was a serene, intimate escape set against the backdrop of a rainy Sunday afternoon—rain that only enhanced the lush greenery and peaceful ambiance. This gathering blended learning, reflection, friendship, and sensory calm, creating a restorative experience for everyone who joined.

Returning to this tranquil spot after many years made the afternoon even more meaningful, but sharing it with friends transformed it into something special. Fresh tea, nourishing eats, quiet conversation, and a guided tour of the temple—including its book collection and small museum—brought layers of insight and inspiration. Soft live music drifted through the space as the temple approached closing, giving the entire experience an almost otherworldly feeling, as if participants had stepped into a peaceful corner of another country.

Incense lingered in the background, grounding the group and leaving everyone centered and refreshed before beginning a new week.

Event Highlights:

  • Rain-kissed scenery that amplified the serene atmosphere

  • Fresh tea & warm, nourishing food

  • Temple tour with books, exhibits & quiet corners

  • Soft live music creating an immersive ambiance

  • A grounding moment with incense and reflection

  • A peaceful way to reset before the week ahead

Review

“What a fun, relaxing and refreshing event on a cosy and blissful Sunday afternoon.

Literally everything was perfect about this gathering. All that rain? It totally added towards the lush background and serene surrounding.

It was nice to revisit this spot after all these years. But mix it in with friends? Totally an entertaining experience, mixed with knowledge and learning.

Thanks for such a zen-like moment and making this event happen, Lou. It was good to connect over fresh tea, warm nutritious eats, and touring the temple together. I loved looking over the books as well as their mini museum area.

We heard live music softly playing in the background as the temple came to a quiet close for the day. We all agreed that we felt like we were elsewhere. Far away in another country or something. A home away from home experience.

The smell of incense wafting and burning in the background gave the gathering a grounded touch. We all felt recentered within before going our own ways. What a great way to blissfully bring in a new week ahead. Cheers to all.”
