Sara's full firsthand review

Golden Dumpling House seems to serve up some rather mean, or should I say, cute and authentic dumplings. They are quite doughy and chewy; yet filled to the brim. Upon tucking into the dumplings you'll find a rather large sized meatball brimming with flavor. The texture of the dumplings are rather old world and are super boiling hot when you nosh on them. Fresh at it's best. Judging by the reviews this spot seems to have gotten better over time. It's too bad that dine in is closed for now. But when it comes to dumplings, to-go orders are quick and reliable. My favorite are the steamed chicken dumplings as well as the pan fried beef dumplings. They are sealed in with flavor and the texture is great as well. The chili sauce has way too much oil and less spice. The black dumpling sauce (vinegar) is good though. I wish they had a plain shrimp and chive dumpling, as not everyone eats pork. Seafood dumplings would be a great addition to this spot. Other than that, the scallion pancakes are crispy and house made as well. Better than the flat and chewy ones you'll find at any freezer section of a market. Place your order ahead of time as it takes time to prepare the dumplings. Approximately 20-25 mins. Make sure to order by 7:30 pm the latest if you're arriving at evening. Other than that, the service was chill and prompt. Cash only. They have many other items on their menu besides dumplings. Will definitely revisit and try a few other goodies. Until then, continue supporting local mom and pop shops! These folks put soul into their craft.
