Asia Blue – Modern Taiwanese Fusion with Room to Grow

Asia Blue brings a fresh, modern presence to Tang City Plaza, pairing sleek décor with an open kitchen and a digital menu that makes browsing fun and easy. The atmosphere is polished, bright, and inviting, with warm service and attention to presentation. While the appetizers and tea shine, the entrées—particularly the vegetarian curry noodle soup and laksa—leave room for improvement. Even so, the freshness of the ingredients and the lack of MSG make it worth revisiting, especially as the restaurant continues to establish its footing in this growing food hub.

“I wanted to really love this new spot! The vibe is charming—modern interior, clean and sparkly décor, and an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs at work. The tablet-style menu is a neat touch, making it easy to swipe through photos and descriptions.

We started with vegetarian spring rolls that arrived piping hot and super crisp—definitely made in-house. Paired them with herbal tea served in adorable teapots, which I highly recommend ordering while you wait for your meal.

For mains, I chose the vegetarian curry noodle soup and my friend ordered the laksa. Both dishes were beautifully presented, mine garnished with alfalfa sprouts and plenty of veggies, but the flavors fell flat. The toasted sesame oil seemed to overshadow the curry notes, and I missed the brightness of citrus and spice. My friend felt similarly about the laksa. I added salt and chili to bump it up a bit, and the leftovers actually tasted better the next day.

Still, I appreciated the freshness and the fact that nothing had MSG. Sometimes simple, real ingredients speak louder than anything else. I’m curious to try their Taiwanese-style beef noodle soup next—likely one of their stronger offerings.

Tang City Plaza is the new, up-and-coming hotspot for Sugar Land and Missouri City, so I’ll definitely be back. Noodle soup in this weather is always comforting, and I’m hopeful for an improved experience. Until next time!”
