Sara's full firsthand review

I've been to Dandelion Cafe twice now and I definitely like the concept of this place. The outside and the inside of the cafe are nicely decorated and inviting. Its cute and cozy to have this little cafe tucked in Bellaire Blvd. I think its wise to say that we need more coffee houses in that part of town. I live out in Sugar Land.. but I enjoy venturing out and supporting local business. Service is warm and friendly. Nice place to hangout with friends and family. The coffee here is great. They use Greenway Coffee, which also happens to be a local Houston favorite. The beans are smooth and aromatic. I've tried both the pumpkin spice latte & gingerbread latte. Enjoyed them during this holiday season. The syrups are handmade and you can certainly taste it in the beverages. The coffee is definitely what I see myself coming back to. The food? Not so sure about that. I've tried the veggie delight sandwich on both occasions when visiting Dandelion. First time around, the sandwich was loaded with the good stuff: marinated eggplant, caramelized onions, red pepper spread, grilled asparagus, mushrooms, etc. Served with a small cup of watermelon. Its a tasty vegetarian sandwich.. and it came with a lighter tasting bread the first time around.. kind of like french bread. The second time upon visiting, the sandwich was much smaller in size and the bread was darker. Didn't pair well with the roasted veg. Served with a little cup of pickles. Well. I wasn't impressed. If the portion size is going to get smaller.. so should the price. The prices are steep for whats offered on the menu. I did enjoy the stuffed french toast, and the bagel dots stuffed with vegetable cream cheese. They also serve soup, salads, and dessert here. There is a variety of drinks for everyone and not just coffee. Think i'll just stick to a cafe latte and something sweet off the menu. Simple cafe vibes. I recommend checking out this place.
