Cafe Dolce Gelato review

I specifically came for the Illy coffee today. Needed a boost of caffeine and warmth from my latte while taking a stroll inside the Galleria. Illy is one of my favorite coffee brands emerging from Italia. I often visit Cafe Dolce Gelato for their Italian coffee. The caffe latte has a warm, smooth and delightful taste. There are far and few decent options for coffee in the Galleria. I often drop by here.. they've been around for ages. So this little gelateria is tucked in a corner near Nordstrom. I wasn't in the mood for gelato but sampled it anyway and was disappointed. The consistency was off and the gelato was dry and stiff. This place was always a great little spot for some fresh and creamy gelato. I viewed each and every case and it seemed all of them were dry and lack luster. I'm hoping they can get their consistency back. Many of the flavors are traditional and very italian. The pistachios are directly from a farm sourced through Sicily. Other than that, the sandwiches and crepes are tasty. I have tried the caprese panini in the past and it was decent. They also serve up fresh waffle cones to accompany the gelato. As for now, I think i'll just continue sticking to their coffee. It's a nice little cafe to satisfy the sweet tooth when in the midst of a shopping jungle. Until next time..
